Why teams call us

Big decisions made on incomplete information

Most of what we're asked to review is a decision that's already been half-made under pressure.

A vendor pitch is the only input

The recommendation to buy came from the company selling it, not an independent review.

Nobody can say what the current stack actually costs

Licences, hosting and support are scattered across departments with no single owner.

A rebuild is being considered by default

'Rebuild it' is the easy answer when nobody has actually assessed what's fixable.

Capabilities

What we help with

Independent advice, delivered in writing — not a slide deck that gets filed away.

Technology audits

An honest read on what's working, what's risky, and what's quietly costing you money.

Vendor & tool selection

Shortlists and comparisons based on your actual requirements, not who has the best sales team.

Architecture review

A second opinion on a proposed system design before it's built, when the cost of being wrong is high.

Digital roadmap planning

A prioritised, costed plan for the next 6–12 months, not a five-year vision document.

Security posture review

A practical assessment of where the real risk sits, in plain language for non-technical stakeholders.

Team & process advisory

Advice on hiring, tooling and workflow for teams building out their own technical capability.

How we work

How an engagement runs

Short, focused engagements with a written outcome — not an open-ended retainer.

STEP 01

Understand the decision

What's actually being decided, who it affects, and what a good outcome looks like.

STEP 02

Review & assess

Current systems, vendor options or proposed architecture reviewed against your real constraints.

STEP 03

Write the recommendation

A clear, written recommendation with reasoning — not a slide deck of options with no conclusion.

STEP 04

Support the decision

Available to answer questions as your team acts on it, whether that's with us or elsewhere.

Questions we're asked before starting

Anything else, write to us and an engineer will answer.

admin@cybexsoft.com
Are you independent of the vendors you recommend?+

Yes — we don't resell software or take referral commissions. Recommendations are based on fit, not incentive.

Will you tell us if we don't need anything built?+

That's often the actual finding. Several engagements have ended with 'fix these three things, you don't need a rebuild.'

Do you only advise, or can you also build the recommendation?+

Either. Some clients want advice only; others move straight into implementation with us once the plan is written.

How long does a typical engagement take?+

Most audits and reviews run two to four weeks. Ongoing advisory is available as ad hoc or retained support.

Who do you typically work with?+

Founders and IT leads at growing companies who need a technical opinion they can trust before committing budget.

About to make a technology decision?

A short call before you commit budget is often the cheapest insurance you'll buy this year.
